In a July 31 story about a lawsuit seeking to ban the pesticide chlorpyrifos, The Associated Press reported erroneously that it was used as a chemical weapon during World War II. The pesticide was developed in the 1960s from the same chemical family used to make World War II nerve agents, but it is far less toxic, Dow AgroScience spokesman Garry Hamlin said. [News Source]
