A $435 million civil rights lawsuit brought by 15 Claiborne County residents alleges that Grand Gulf Nuclear Power Plant has not been made to pay its fair share of taxes. The suit, filed Wednesday in Claiborne County Circuit Court, names as defendants the Claiborne County Board of Supervisors, the Mississippi Tax Commission and state Attorney General Jim Hood.
